ILSE DE GENDT

Ilse was born in Beveren Waas in 1966 and works as a planner at Yusen Logistics.
She started diving in 1998 and this underwater world fascinated her to such an extent that she started with videoography fairly soon.
Making macro recordings and diving at night are among her favorite activities under water.
She always tries to make fascinating documentaries with stable and sharp images.
Her favorite divesites can be found in Malaysia and Indonesia and together with Gino she was lucky to dive there for longer periods.
In 2008 she made her first documentary “Living Carpets”, that same year she has been working with Gino Rosiers on “Insects of the Sea” a film that got awarded a lot of main prizes at international festivals.
In 2009 she won the 1st Hugycup video edition.
Since then she has collected more than 100 Major Awards with her documentaries.
Thanks to the many prizes, she was able to dive several times in Komodo and Raja Ampat.
She is currently working with Danny Van Belle, among others, on a series of 10 episodes.

Ilse est née à Beveren Waas en 1966 et travaille comme planificatrice chez Yusen Logistics.
Elle a commencé à plonger en 1998 et ce monde sous-marin l’a fascinée à un point tel qu’elle a commencé avec une vidéo assez bientôt.
Faire des enregistrements macro, specialement pendant la nuit figurent parmi ses activités préférées sous l’eau.
Elle essaie toujours de produire des documentaires fascinants avec des images stables et nettes.
Les sites de plongées qu’elle aime le plus se situe en Malaisie et en Indonésie et avec Gino, elle a eu la chance d’y plonger pendant de longues périodes.
En 2008, elle a réalisé son premier documentaire “Living Carpets”, la même année, elle a travaillé avec Gino Rosiers sur “Insects of the Sea” qui a remporté de nombreux prix principaux lors des festivals internationaux.
En 2009, elle remporte la 1ère édition Hugycup.
Depuis lors, elle a récolté plus de 100 prix majeurs avec ses documentaires.
Grâce aux nombreux prix, elle a pu plonger plusieurs fois à Komodo et Raja Ampat.
Elle travaille actuellement avec Danny Van Belle, entre autres, sur une série de 10 documentaires.

Ilse is geboren in Beveren Waas in 1966 en werkzaam als planner bij Yusen Logistics.
Ze begon te duiken in 1998 en deze onderwaterwereld fascineerde haar zodanig dat ze vrij snel hierna begon met videografie.
Macro opnames maken en nacht duiken behoren tot haar favoriete bezigheden onder water.
Steeds probeert ze met stabiele en scherpe beelden boeiende documentaires te maken.
Haar voorkeur duikstekken bevinden zich in Maleisië en Indonesië en samen met Gino heeft zij het geluk gehad om daar voor langere periodes te duiken.
In 2008 maakte ze haar eerste documentaire ‘living carpets’ , datzelfde jaar werkt ze samen met Gino Rosiers aan ‘insects of the sea’ die op de internationale festivals heel wat hoofdprijzen behaalde.
In 2009 wint ze de 1e Hugycup editie.
Sindsdien verzamelde ze internationaal met haar documentaires meer dan 100 Major awards.
