ANDI VOELTZ (Germany)

Andi Voeltz is co-founder of the worldwide reknown DIGIDEEP.com website and a digital underwater photographer since 1998, a time when underwater housings were hard to find and established underwater photographers were making jokes about digital rookies trying to squeeze underwater images out of their equipment. Next to college he started working as a freelance journalist and (underwater) photographer. He is also a scuba instructor and specialty trainer for underwater video- and photography. In 2005 Andi was hired by PADI to co-develop their new Digital Unterwater Photography course. The D.U.P. course was introduced in January 2006 on a worldwide level. The educational materials have been translated in more than eight different languages. For Andi this was a point were he had to admit that his hobby had transformed into a profession. He loves to travel and document his underwater adventures with a camera - video or still. He still thinks to have one of the coolest jobs in the world, which he could not have imagined 10 years ago.

Andi Voeltz is medeoprichter van de wereldbekende DIGIDEEP.COM website en een digitaal onderwater fotograaf sinds 1998, een periode waar onderwaterbehuizingen nog schaars waren en gevestigde waarden in de onderwater fotografie grappen maakten over digitale jonkies die probeerden onderwaterbeelden te creëren uit hun nieuwe camera uitrusting. Na zijn studies begon hij te werken als freelance journalist en onderwater fotograaf. Hij is tevens duikinstructeur en specialiteits instructeur voor onderwater videografie en fotografie. In 2005 werd Andi ingehuurd door PADI om in samenwerking een nieuwe Digitale Onderwater Fotografie cursus te ontwikkelen. Deze cursus werd wereldwijd geintroduceerd in januari 2006. Deze educatieve cursus werd vertaald in meer dan 8 talen. Vanaf dit punt moest hij toegeven dat zijn hobby eigenlijk zijn werk geworden was. Zijn liefde ligt bij reizen en het documentariëren van zijn duikavonturen met video of fotocamera. Hij denkt nu een van de koelste jobs ter wereld vast te hebben iets wat hij zich 10 jaar geleden nog zelfs niet kon inbeelden.
